Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation Board of Directors

The Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation Board of Directors has 12 members representing various oral health stakeholders. The Board meets two times per year and has an annual planning retreat. Board members serve one-year terms and are eligible to be elected for nine terms.

Current Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation Board of Directors and Officers include:

Foundation Chair: John Kearns, DDS, is a practicing dentist at Fleur Dentistry in Des Moines. He received both his Bachelors of Science and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.	Foundation Vice Chair: Nolden Gentry is Principal of Brick Gentry, P.C. in West Des Moines. He received his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa. Nolden is past Chairman of Delta Dental of Iowa.
Foundation President: Donn Hutchins is the President & CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa. Donn received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont and his MBA from the University of Virginia. Donn has been with Delta Dental of Iowa since 1999.	Executive Director: Suzanne Heckenlaible is the Director of Government & Community Relations of Delta Dental of Iowa. Suzanne has a Bachelor's Degree from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL) and Masters in Public Administration from Drake University. She has been with Delta Dental of Iowa since 2006
Foundation Treasurer/Secretary: Cheryl Harding is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Delta Dental of Iowa. Cheryl is a graduate of The Ohio State University. Cheryl joined Delta Dental in 2007.	Tom Aller is the President of Interstate Power and Light Company, an Alliant Energy company located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is a graduate of Creighton University where he studied political science. He completed his MA in Municipal Administration from the University of Iowa. Aller is also Chairman of Delta Dental of Iowa.
Steve Hedlund, DDS is currently retired from his dental practice in Iowa City. Dr. Hedlund received his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa Wesleyan and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa.	David Johnsen, DDS, MS, has been the Dean of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry since 1995. Dr. Johnson received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan and his Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Iowa.
Rhys Jones, DDS is the Director of the St. Luke's Dental Health Center in Cedar Rapids. Dr. Jones received his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degree in Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health from the University of Iowa.	Jennifer Lightbody is the Executive Director of People's Community Health Clinic in Waterloo. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master of Arts in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Iowa.
Matt Mendenhall, Ph.D., is Vice President of Regional Programs for the Community Foundation of Great River Bend in Bettendorf. Matt is a graduate of Cornell College, has a MSW degree from St. Ambrose University and a Ph.D. from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University.	Jan Reinicke is currently retired from the Iowa State Education Association, where she served as Executive Director. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati.
Robert Russell, DDS, MPH, is the Dental Director for the Iowa Department of Public Health in Des Moines. Dr. Russell received his Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University, his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Loyola University (Chicago, IL), and his Masters of Public Health from the University of Michigan.	Ed Schooley, DDS, MHA, is the Vice President & Dental Director at Delta Dental of Iowa. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa and Masters in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
