Delta Dental Announces New Board Members

Four Iowa health care industry professionals were elected to board positions with Delta Dental of Iowa, the largest and most experienced provider of dental benefits in the state. Dr. Donna Grant joins the board of Delta Dental of Iowa while the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation board welcomes three new board members: Dr. Dan Caplan, Tracy Rodgers and Jennifer Vermeer.

Donna Grant, DDS, practices general dentistry at Norwalk Family Dentistry in Norwalk. Dr. Grant received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Nebraska Medical Center. 

“We’re fortunate to add Dr. Grant on our incredible group of professionals that make up the Delta Dental of Iowa board,” said Tom Aller, board chair and retired president of Interstate Power and Light Company, an Alliant Energy Company. “Her experience of building a practice in a rapidly growing community will benefit Delta Dental and give us additional insight into the health care environment.”

Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation Board Elections

Three health care industry professionals bring new and diverse perspectives to the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation Board to address the oral health needs of Iowans.

Dr. Dan Caplan is Chair of the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. Dr. Caplan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Iowa, General Practice Residency certificate from the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Tracy Rodgers, RDH is an executive officer at the Iowa Department of Public Health in Des Moines. Rodgers is a graduate of The University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree and Certificate in Public Health.

Jennifer Vermeer is president and CEO of The University of Iowa Health Alliance – Des Moines and assistant vice president for Health Policy and Population Health at University of Iowa Health Care. Vermeer received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central College in Pella, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Arizona and a Master of Health Care Delivery Science degree from Dartmouth College, NH.
