Delta Dental of Iowa - Creating a Healthier and Happier Iowa

Delta Dental of Iowa is on a mission to improve the lives of Iowans, one smile at a time. In 2017, the not-for-profit health and wellness company contributed more than $2.1 million throughout Iowa through the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, Public Benefit Program, and the company’s corporate giving. In addition to monetary contributions, Delta Dental employees also had the opportunity to engage in community events, including the Komen Greater Iowa Race for the Cure, and Iowa Mission of Mercy held in Cedar Rapids.
Improving Oral and Overall Health
In 2017, the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation and Public Benefit Program invested in oral health programs that benefited all 99 counties in the state. Funding provided by Delta Dental contributed to oral health education programs for children and aging Iowans, loan repayment programs for dentists in underserved communities, supported community water fluoridation and increased access to dental care for underserved Iowans.
As a vision insurance carrier, Delta Dental of Iowa wants to improve not only the oral health of Iowans, but also the vision health. In the fall of 2017, the company announced support to three Iowa non-profit organizations that support children’s vision health – Prevent Blindness Iowa, Vision To Learn and Iowa KidSight.
Giving Back to Our Communities
In addition to giving through the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation and Public Benefit Program, the company participates in several philanthropic programs and events throughout the year. Employees get involved by giving and volunteering for organizations such as Komen Greater Iowa Race for the Cure, Healthiest State Initiative, United Way of Central Iowa, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa and Iowa Mission of Mercy.
