New Board Leadership

Delta Dental of Iowa and the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation have announced the appointment of several new board leadership roles. For Delta Dental of Iowa, Tom Mahoney has been named Board Chair and Dr. Teri Wahlig was elected as a new board member. For Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, Rowena “Ro” Crosbie and Juliann Van Liew were named advisory board members.
These boards oversee the not-for-profit health and wellness company, which serves more than 1.6 million members, and its Foundation that cumulatively have committed more than $3.6 million in 2024 to improve the health and smiles of Iowans.

Tom Mahoney
Board Chair, Delta Dental of Iowa
Tom Mahoney has served on the Delta Dental Board since 2015. He was previously the chairman, president and chief executive officer of ITA Group. Mr. Mahoney received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Teri Wahlig
Board Member, Delta Dental of Iowa
Dr. Wahlig is the president and chief executive officer for ChildServe, a leading pediatric healthcare provider for children with special healthcare needs. Dr. Wahlig earned her bachelor's degree from Marquette University, her medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and her M.B.A from the University of Iowa. She completed her pediatric residency at Northwestern University and her neonatology fellowship at University of Minnesota Medical School.

Ro Crosbie
Advisory Board Member, Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation
Ro Crosbie is the president of Tero International, a company she founded in 1993. She has served on both the Delta Dental and Foundation boards, most recently serving as the board chair for the Delta Dental Board. She holds a degree in management from the University of Manitoba.

Juliann Van Liew
Advisory Board Member, Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation
Juliann Van Liew is the director of the Polk County Health Department. She attended Drake University before receiving her master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
