Delta Dental of Iowa Impacting Central Iowa Community Goals

Des Moines, IA (November 8, 2019) – Hundreds of employers throughout central Iowa run a United Way campaign in their workplace each year. It's a great way to offer employees a way to give back to the community and in a way that will have real impact locally. Delta Dental of Iowa reached a record level of organizational giving by raising $105,000 for its 2019 United Way Giving campaign. In addition to the record funds raised, ninety-six percent of Delta Dental’s employees participated in giving. As an Iowa company, Delta Dental ensures the success of the campaign by matching all employee contributions and fundraising at 50 percent.
“We are proud of our employees’ giving spirit and the incredible accomplishment we’ve achieved considering our company has fewer than 200 employees,” said Jeff Russell, president and chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Iowa. “The United Way of Central Iowa has a critical focus on supporting education, income and health in our community. As a health and wellness company, we appreciate the opportunity to engage with community organizations that align with our company’s values.”
Each year, companies across Iowa participate in the United Way of Central Iowa Workplace Campaigns program. While the overall goals for all campaigns are the same, they are unique in that each company can create their own customized campaign to fit an organization’s culture. This, says Russell, was one reason why he believes they exceeded their fundraising goal.
“Giving back through the United Way Campaign has become a critical component of our corporate culture. Our internal committee continues to look at new ways to raise funds and enhance the campaign through fun themes, activities and a little friendly competition. We are energized by what we’ve accomplished and are looking forward to raising our goals for 2020.”
