Kick It Forward Receives Support
Posted on August 16, 2022 in Corporate
Delta Dental of Iowa has contributed $50,000 to Kick It Forward, a non-profit that strives to develop athletic and life skills through soccer. Kick It Forward works with local communities to bring Mini-Pitch soccer fields to Iowa communities. A Mini-Pitch is a small, galvanized steel futsal-style soccer space that can transform abandoned courts and other underutilized spaces into vibrant places where individuals can be physically active.
Delta Dental’s contribution will support costs associated with securing and installing the Mini-Pitch System™. The Mini-Pitch comes as a modular system complete with lighting, fencing, goals, benches, ADA-compliant access, and lockable storage. Kick It Forward partners with Musco Lighting that designs, engineers, and manufactures the Mini-Pitch System™.
“As an Iowa-based health and wellness company, we’re proud to support the efforts of Kick It Forward and other local partners to bring safe and accessible spaces for communities to come together and engage in healthy activities,” said Jeff Russell, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa.
Each of the following Mini-Pitch sites will receive $10,000 toward their overall fundraising goals:
Progress Park - Hampton, Iowa
Lincoln Elementary School – Pella, Iowa
Pella Christian High School- Pella, Iowa
Chautauqua Park - Storm Lake, Iowa
Riverside Park - Sioux City, Iowa
“Kick It Forward is passionate about ensuring everyone in a community has the opportunity to be active,” said Matt Sahag, founder of Kick It Forward. “We’re grateful for Delta Dental’s support as we work alongside each community to make their Mini-Pitch a reality.”
The Mini-Pitches will be installed in the four Iowa communities over the next few months with ribbon cutting ceremonies in Pella at the end of August and in Storm Lake in early September. For more information on Kick It Forward and the Mini-Pitch System go to kifsoccer.com.
