April Schmaltz Announced as New President and CEO

Delta Dental of Iowa announced today that April Schmaltz, Interim Co-CEO and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has been named its new President & CEO. This announcement follows a comprehensive national search that produced a strong pool of candidates.

She brings the passion and expertise to lead Delta Dental as it continues to grow its core dental and vision business, expand its product offerings, and fulfill its mission to support the health and wellness of our communities.”

Schmaltz has been with the company since 2014 leading sales, marketing and product development. With more than 25 years of experience in executive leadership, strategy, and new business growth, April has held a variety of executive leadership roles in the health care and financial services industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University and a Master of Business Administration from Iowa State University. In addition, April serves on numerous professional and community boards and councils including Healthiest State Initiative, EveryStep, and the Global Insurance Accelerator.
