Rethink Your Drink
The Rethink Your Drink program aims to get more Iowans drinking water throughout the day to support their oral and overall health by providing water bottle filling stations outdoor water bottle filling stations in accessible, outdoor public and community spaces such as at parks or trailheads. Access free online educational resources to educate students and community members on the importance of drinking water by contacting the Foundation team.
The 2026 application deadline was March 10. All Rethink Your Drink funds have been allocated at this time. Please check back in mid-January 2027 for additional Rethink Your Drink opportunities.
Outdoor Stations: The Foundation is looking to provide outdoor water bottle filling stations in Iowa communities along trailheads and in public parks. Priority will be given to community projects with:
- the greatest need and that demonstrate a critical access point for a variety of individuals (children, adults, older adults, underserved individuals)
- Awarded locations will receive an outdoor water filling station unit provided in-kind by Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation. *All other services required for installation, such as personnel, contract services, construction permits, disposal of any pre-existing units, etc., as well as replacement filters, are the responsibility of the grant recipient. Awardees will also be responsible for winterizing the unit annually.

School/Indoor Water Bottle Filling Station Recipients
We are proud to have donated and supported the installation costs of over 445 indoor water bottle filling stations to schools and libraries across the state since 2017. Starting in 2026, requests for outdoor water bottle filling stations only will be considered. Thank you for making this program such a success over the years.
