Who are the two dental carriers for DWP, DWP Kids, and Hawki starting July 1, 2026?
Delta Dental of Iowa and DentaQuest will be the dental carriers for Iowa Medicaid. This includes Hawki, DWP, and DWP Kids.
How will I know who my dental carrier is?
Iowa Medicaid will send Annual Choice letters to all members starting in April 2026. The letter will list which carrier you will be assigned to. This carrier might be different than the carrier you have now.
You will be able to change carriers until June 18, 2026. You will begin services with your new dental carrier starting July 1, 2026.
If you do not get your letter in the mail by the middle of May, please call Iowa Medicaid Member Services at 1-800-338-8366, available Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
You do not need to do anything if you are happy with your assigned dental carrier.
How do I change my dental carrier?
The letter you receive will include an Annual Choice change form. You need to return this form to Iowa Medicaid if you would like to change carriers one of the following ways:
- Phone:
- Iowa Medicaid Member Services: 1-800-338-8366, available Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Mail in your Annual Choice change form: Member Services, PO Box 36510, Des Moines, IA 50315. (Mail is not processed daily and your dental carrier choice may be delayed.)
- Email your Annual Choice change form to: Iowa Medicaid Member Services at [email protected].

I currently have MCNA, what does this mean for me?
If you have MCNA now, they will be your carrier until June 30, 2026. You will get your new dental carrier assignment in the mail. You will begin services with your new dental carrier on July 1, 2026.
My child has Hawki, what does this mean for us?
Starting July 1, 2026, Delta Dental and DentaQuest will both be dental carriers for Hawki. Delta Dental Hawki members could be assigned to DentaQuest. Hawki members can change dental carriers until June 18, 2026.
Delta Dental will continue to be the only dental carrier for Hawki until June 30, 2026.
